Our lake at Glan y Wern is being under utlilised by members despite there being a good head of fish in the lake. With this in mind from the start of the school holidays in mid July to the end of August it is proposed to open up the lake for members children/grandchildren/nephews/nieces to fish the lake using any method e.g. float fished worm or maggots, sweet corn, bread etc, you can teach them to fish a fly as well but we need them to catch their first fish and enjoy the experience such that they take up fishing as a hobby. The safety of the children will be the responsibility of members (the life jackets in the hut are not suitable for children) and with this in mind a limit of two children per member will be applied. All you will need to do is book the lake and tick the guest box, the guest fee will be waived for children. You could of course bring your wife and make it a day out with a picnic at the lake. There will be no restriction on how many visits you make with children providing rods are available.
