Cae Coch

The beat is approx half a mile long.  The upstream limit is boundary with the derelict buildings, the lower limit is the farm access road.  Beat limits are as shown in the photograph. The beat is tidal and can hold large numbers of fish, particularly from July to the end of the season when the main river is low. It is best fished on falling tides. The beat can be fished with the fly but is better suited to spinning or bait fishing There is off-road parking for at least two cars, do not block access for farm vehicles.  From the car park follow the track to the river.  We will need a working party to improve access as we may need stiles. To Get There:  From the A55 take the A470 heading for Llanwrst taking a right turn at Tal-y-Cafn across the river to Tyn-y-Groes. Turn left along the B5106 through Dolgarrog and on for about  1 mile. There is a not very obvious gate at an acute angle on the left which gives access to the parking. It is easier to make a ‘U’ turn at the Trefriw Spa Hotel and enter from the other direction.
