WGFC provides fishing for its members who are mainly based in the Wirral, Chester and North Wales areas. The Club was formed over 40 years ago to provide quality fishing for discerning local anglers and has built up an excellent reputation. Many of its leased waters would normally only be made available to private individuals or small syndicates.
Prime beats available to its members include game fishing on the rivers Dee, Clwyd, Elwy, Lledr and Conwy. There is a well stocked trout lake available and a daily rod allocation on Llyn Brenig. We also have memberships of a number of other clubs that increases the range of water available for members.
In addition to the wealth of salmon, sea and brown trout fishing available on all beats, the river Dee offers some of the finest grayling fishing opportunities in the country. The number of rods available per beat is carefully regulated by the Club to ensure comfortable fishing for all its members and beats are booked via the internet booking system, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Club is restricted to 150 full members. We meet monthly, where, in addition to normal club business, guest speakers and demonstrations are normally on the agenda. Members are encouraged to involve themselves in the upkeep and improvement of our fisheries.
